MLR is now offering solenoid testing and diagnostic services for your BMW E46 M3 SMG II hydraulic system. We have the ability to test both the proportional pressure control valves and directional control valves. Our solenoid testing and diagnostic services will be carried out by trained technicians who have worked on these systems before.
Typically a solenoid valve in the SMG II hydraulic system operating outside of it's design specifications will result in:
- The vehicle not being able to shift into or out of gear.
- The shift adaptation sequence failing.
- The clutch adaptation sequence failing.
- The computer producing fault codes related to the selector angle.
During our testing and diagnostic procedure we will test for:
- Leaks across the solenoid and o-rings
- A functional test
If a solenoid passes all of the above tests we will replace all o-rings with our own viton grade seals. If a solenoid fails the leak test or functional test we will point you in the right direction.
